In the production of food and beverages, ensuring food safety for the consumer is of utmost importance. A key aspect of this is the hygienic design of the plant components that come into contact with the product. This is crucial to avoid microbiological contaminations and ensure product quality. Within the hygienic overall concept of a production facility, the measuring instruments used must meet certain criteria. These include requirements for the material, surface quality, process safety, connection technology, and cleanability, especially in the context of Cleaning in Place (CIP) processes.
Standards and Safety Requirements
The measuring instruments used in food and beverage production are manufactured according to international standards to meet the high demands of food safety. These standards and guidelines include:

- 3-A Sanitary Standards
- ATEX (Directive for explosion protection)

Process Connections and Fittings
To allow for flexible and safe integration into production facilities, measuring devices offer a variety of industry-standard and specific process connections. These include, for example, screw connections and clamp connections that meet the hygienic requirements for sterile or aseptic applications. Such connections facilitate the integration of measuring instruments into various production environments and contribute to maintaining hygiene standards.
