Description

The IVA 526 is a compact inline flow sensor for the precise measurement of compressed air and technical gases. It measures flow rate, consumption and temperature directly at the point of use and is particularly suitable for monitoring individual machines, system sections and decentralized consumers.

The sensor can optionally be equipped with integrated pressure and dew point measurement. This allows several important operating and consumption parameters to be measured with a single instrument. It reduces installation work and enables a comprehensive assessment of the compressed-air or gas supply directly at the point of use.

Consumption Measurement Directly at the Point of Use

Thanks to its compact inline design, the IVA 526 can be installed directly in the supply line of a machine or downstream of an air service unit. Decentralized measurement makes the actual consumption of individual users visible and supports the consumption-based allocation of energy and operating costs.

The measured values can be used for consumption analysis, the detection of unnecessary consumption and the assessment of system efficiency. The sensor is therefore also suitable for energy management systems and consumption evaluations in accordance with ISO 50001.

Flexible Interfaces for System Integration

Depending on the version, the measured values can be transmitted via an analog 4–20 mA output or various digital interfaces. Available interfaces include Modbus RTU, Ethernet, M-Bus and IO-Link. The Ethernet version can optionally be powered via Power over Ethernet.

These interfaces allow the IVA 526 to be integrated easily into control systems, process control systems, data loggers and higher-level energy monitoring systems. Bluetooth® is included as standard and enables convenient operation, parameterization and display of current measured values using a mobile device.

Low Installation Effort

An integrated flow straightener stabilizes the flow profile within the measuring section. Depending on the version, this eliminates the need for additional inlet sections. This is particularly advantageous where installation space is limited, inside machines or when retrofitting existing systems.

The compact design also facilitates OEM integration and installation at difficult-to-access or decentralized measuring points.

Optional Pressure and Dew Point Monitoring

With optional pressure measurement, the available operating pressure at the point of use can be monitored in addition to consumption. Pressure losses, incorrectly adjusted supply pressures or insufficient pressure reserves can therefore be detected more quickly.

Optional dew point measurement also enables continuous monitoring of the quality of the gas or compressed air. Moisture problems can be detected at an early stage, helping to protect sensitive machines, tools and production processes.

Typical Applications

  • Consumption measurement directly at machines and systems
  • Decentralized measurement of compressed-air and gas consumption
  • Energy management and consumption balancing in accordance with ISO 50001
  • Detection of leaks and unnecessary consumption
  • OEM integration into machines and supply units
  • Efficiency monitoring of nitrogen and oxygen generators
  • Monitoring of pressure, temperature and dew point at the point of use
