Pneumatic calibration pumps generate vacuum and overpressure using air or nitrogen—ideal for calibrating gauges, pressure transmitters, pressure switches and loggers in the low/mid-pressure range. Coarse generation (lever/screw) plus a micro volume adjuster provide stable, mbar-fine setpoints without overshoot—in the lab or in the field.

How do I achieve mbar-level stability?

  • Use the micro volume adjuster (fine screw).
  • Keep the system volume small (short hoses, few cavities).
  • Minimize temperature drift; shield the setup from drafts/vibration.

What accuracy is realistic?

The pump generates pressure; your reference (digital gauge/transducer) sets the measurement accuracy. For pass/fail work aim for a TUR ≥ 4:1 (e.g., 0.25 % DUT → ≤0.06 % reference).

Can I test gauge, absolute and differential pressure?

Yes. For absolute pressure include the barometer. For differential use suitable manifolds/switching valves (equalize/isolate) with two ports.

Which media should I use?

Dry, clean air or nitrogen. Oil- and particle-free media extend valve/seal life and prevent contamination of the DUT.

How do I perform a leak/hold test?

Pressurize to the target → isolate → hold for a defined time → log the drift rate (e.g., mbar/min). Record temperature and compensate if needed.

What fittings/sealing concepts are common?

G 1/4 (BSPP), NPT, M20×1.5, 7/16″-20 UNF. Seal via O-ring/face seal (BSPP) or taper/cone (NPT/UNF). No tape on sealing faces; use approved compounds only.
