The SmartLinx module is a communication solution for Siemens weighing electronics, belt scales and other industrial measuring instruments. It enables direct digital connection to common fieldbus systems and extends compatible Siemens devices with flexible communication interfaces.

The modules are designed for fast and easy installation. They are installed directly into the SmartLinx-compatible device via a plug-in connection. This eliminates the need for additional gateways, separate special hardware and complex special wiring. As a result, installation effort is reduced and commissioning is simplified.

With SmartLinx, device data, measured values and status information can be transmitted directly to higher-level control and automation systems. At the same time, parameters and settings can be adjusted via the fieldbus or remote communication. This simplifies monitoring, diagnostics and integration of measuring devices into existing plant structures.

SmartLinx modules are available for various communication protocols. These include PROFIBUS DP-V0, PROFIBUS DP-V1, PROFINET IO, DeviceNet and Modbus TCP/IP / EtherNet/IP. Depending on the module, different interfaces, transmission speeds and connection types are available.

Typical compatible devices include MultiRanger 200 HMI, MultiRanger 100/200, HydroRanger 200 HMI, HydroRanger 200, BW500, BW500/L, Milltronics BW500 and Milltronics SF500. Exact compatibility depends on the respective SmartLinx module type.
