The PT18-10 Mk2 Test Set conducts tests on installed cable and jointing systems. It offers a variable output voltage of up to ±18kV DC and a maximum charging capability of 10mA. Equipped with a zero-volt interlock, this 18kV 10mA DC tester ensures safety. It incorporates an automatic load discharge system that safely discharges the cable under test upon switching off or in case of a breakdown.

The internal dumping system discharges a maximum of 2.5kJ on each output, equivalent to 10µF at 18kV. In the event of a test object failure, the overload circuit automatically switches off the output voltage and grounds the output through the internal discharge circuit. The PT18-10 Mk2 includes a DP20 discharge probe as a standard feature, enabling safe discharge of higher load capacitances.

Featuring an internal fail-safe automatic discharge system, the PT18-10 Mk2 DC Test Set supports a maximum discharge voltage of 20kV DC, highest discharge energy of 2.5kJ, highest discharge capacitance of 10μF, and a maximum of 4 discharges per hour. Two large, linear, analogue instruments marked 0-20kV precisely measure the output voltage. Additionally, two analogue instruments with a 0-10 scale accurately measure the current. The high voltage output incorporates a high-quality plug and socket system for easy cable replacement. Plastic covers provide protection to the plugs during transit, and the screened 5-meter long high voltage output cables feature large clips as terminations.

Furthermore, the PT18-10 Mk2 unit introduces automatic 115/230V mains voltage selection for added convenience. It comes with a padded bag to ensure maximum transit protection.
