The SITRANS FVA250 is a variable-area flowmeter for reliable measurement of liquids, gases and steam. Flow measurement is based on the proven variable-area principle. The flowing medium lifts the conical float in the measuring ring until a balance is reached between the buoyancy force of the medium and the weight of the float.

Thanks to its all-metal design, the SITRANS FVA250 is particularly robust and suitable for demanding operating conditions. The instrument can be used at high pressure and high temperatures and is also suitable for corrosive and flammable media. The impact-resistant housing cover supports safe use in industrial applications.

The measured value is displayed directly on the scale. Depending on the application, product scales or percentage scales are available. The height of the float is proportional to the flow rate. The movement of the float is transmitted via a magnet system to another magnet in the indicator section.

Due to its rugged construction, the instrument can also be used under harsh conditions. Various flange connections, linings and float materials allow adaptation to different process conditions. As options, the device can be equipped with a heating or cooling jacket, transmitters and limit switches.

The SITRANS FVA250 is particularly suitable for applications involving water, liquids, corrosion protection and lubricating agents, solvents, saturated and superheated steam, food and beverages as well as industrial gases. Its dirt-resistant float guide makes the device suitable for more demanding media and operating conditions.
