Oval wheel meters belong to the group of direct volume meters for liquids with movable partitions (displacement meters). The oval wheel meter consists of a measuring chamber housing with two rotatably mounted oval wheels which mesh with each other by means of a toothing and roll off each other in a counter-rotating movement. With each rotation, the oval wheels convey four partial volumes (delimited between the oval wheel and the measuring chamber) through the meter. For measurement, the rotary motion of the oval wheels is transmitted to pulse generators via magnets.
