Datasheet

Since 1972, Druck has developed and manufactured high-precision pressure sensors designed to meet the demands of critical applications in industrial, aerospace, oil & gas, and research environments. Today, Druck is part of Baker Hughes and continuously works to enhance and optimize the performance of its pressure sensors to meet customer requirements.

The RPS/DPS8000H combines proven TERPS technology with a hydrogen barrier coating to deliver the most accurate and stable hydrogen-compatible pressure sensor available today. TERPS is a resonant silicon pressure sensor technology platform that provides orders of magnitude greater accuracy and stability than conventional pressure measurement technologies. This technology extends the pressure range capability to high pressures and, through its media-isolated design, significantly improves suitability for use in harsh environments.

Challenges in hydrogen pressure measurement

As an established leader in pressure measurement, Druck has over 50 years of experience and fully understands the challenges associated with hydrogen applications. These challenges arise from the unique behavior of the medium. Exposure to hydrogen gas can impact the performance of a pressure sensor, particularly due to processes such as permeation and embrittlement. Therefore, these effects must be carefully considered when selecting a suitable sensor to ensure accuracy and long-term stability.

In addition to the performance and packaging enhancements provided by TERPS technology, the RPS/DPS8000H series incorporates best design practices to offer a wide range of pressure and electrical connections. This enables an unprecedented level of customization tailored to specific application requirements.

The combination of TERPS technology performance, along with the quality, reliability, and flexibility of the RPS/DPS8000H series, delivers a truly unique solution for high-accuracy and high-stability pressure measurement in hydrogen-rich media.
