Design features

To protect the electronics against moisture, aggressive atmospheres and vibration, the electronics of the SITRANS P Compact are encapsulated. Depending on the version, atmospheric pressure equalization is achieved via the connector gland, an integrated sinter filter or a vented connection cable. In absolute pressure applications, no atmospheric internal pressure equalization is required.

A major advantage of the device is its hygienic process connection design. This allows the use of various aseptic process fittings and supports reliable integration into hygienic plant concepts.

Operating principle

The process pressure is transferred via an isolation diaphragm and a filling fluid to a piezoresistive semiconductor measuring bridge. The transmitter converts this pressure into an electrical output signal. An internal compensation network reduces the influence of ambient temperature and system conditions on the signal, resulting in high stability even under changing operating conditions.
