Design and versions
The pressure transmitter consists of a piezoresistive measuring cell with ceramic diaphragm, installed in a stainless steel housing. Depending on the version, different electrical connections are available. Without explosion protection, the SITRANS P200 can be supplied with a plug according to EN 175301-803-A, an M12 device connector, a cable or an optional Quickon connector.
For explosion-protected applications, the pressure transmitter is also designed with a ceramic measuring cell and stainless steel housing. In this version, the electrical connection is made via an M12 device connector or cable. The output signal is 4 … 20 mA.
Operating principle
The SITRANS P200 measures pressure using a ceramic diaphragm. The operating pressure acts through the pressure connection opening on the measuring cell. The resulting deformation is detected by a thick-film resistance bridge.
The measuring cell voltage is then fed to the electronics and amplified. Depending on the version, the measuring signal is converted into a 4 … 20 mA, 0 … 10 V or IO-Link output signal. The output signal is linearly proportional to the applied input pressure.
