Hydrotechnik HySense® QL 400 – Hydraulic Measurement and Load Module

The HySense® QL 400 from Hydrotechnik is a high-precision, compact measurement and load module for analysing stationary and mobile hydraulic systems. The device measures flow rate, pressure and temperature and enables the resulting hydraulic power to be determined.

An integrated, manually adjustable throttle valve generates a defined flow resistance and therefore makes it possible to simulate a hydraulic load. This makes the HySense QL 400 particularly suitable for testing hydraulic pumps and recording pump characteristic curves as a function of flow rate, pressure and temperature.

Testing hydraulic systems directly under load

Testing a hydraulic pump often requires a defined load. The integrated throttle valve of the HySense QL 400 allows a pressure drop to be set specifically, thereby simulating a hydraulic load.

The integrated sensors measure the relevant parameters directly in the system. The measured values are processed in real time and displayed on the TFT screen. This allows the behaviour of a hydraulic system to be assessed quickly under different operating conditions.

Intuitive plug-and-measure operation

The HySense QL 400 has been developed for straightforward use directly on hydraulic systems. The measured values are shown on an integrated TFT display. Operation is carried out via a push-button keypad.

By combining several measured variables in a single device, the connection effort is reduced compared with using several separate sensors and measuring instruments.

Integrated flow measurement

The flow measurement is based on a turbine measuring principle. The flowing medium sets the turbine impeller in rotation. The impeller frequency is approximately proportional to the average flow velocity and therefore to the volume flow rate.

At the same time, pressure and temperature are measured by integrated sensors and processed by the device electronics.

Two sizes for high flow rates

The HySense QL 400 is available in the QL 400-600 and QL 400-800 versions. This provides variants for flow ranges of up to 600 and 800 l/min respectively.

Integrated pressure protection

To protect both the device and the hydraulic system, the HySense QL 400 features relative pressure protection by means of a replaceable burst disc. If the burst disc ruptures, the oil is routed through a bypass into the return line.

Note: The device is not suitable for use with water, air or gases and must not be used as a control or regulating device.
