Reliability Proven in Aerospace Applications
For over 20 years, our PTX/PMP3000 series has been the platform of choice for aerospace applications. These products have been extensively tested and qualified for use in a wide range of systems, including hydraulic systems, ECS, APU, engines, landing gear, braking systems, and more. This product range is trusted and proven in the world’s most successful single-aisle and twin-aisle aircraft platforms.
Quality and reliability are at the heart of everything we do at Druck. These field-proven products provide our customers and end users with operational confidence and peace of mind.
Technology at the Core of the 3000 Series
At the heart of the 3000 series is a highly stable pressure sensing element, precision micro-machined from single-crystal silicon in our own Class 100 cleanroom. Resistors are diffused into the silicon diaphragm via ion implantation, forming a fully active Wheatstone bridge.
Single-crystal silicon is perfectly elastic and exhibits outstanding mechanical properties.
Advantages of Druck Technology:
- Excellent linearity
- Negligible hysteresis
- Exceptional long-term stability
- High overpressure resistance
- Low mass for fast response and minimal “g” effects
The micro-machined silicon sensing element is atomically bonded to a glass base and integrated into a high-integrity glass-to-metal seal. The pressure medium is isolated from the silicon element by a compliant metal diaphragm—resulting in a fully hermetically sealed pressure module.
Each pressure module undergoes temperature cycling to enhance long-term stability before surface-mounted signal conditioning electronics are installed. These electronics regulate the supply voltage to the strain gauge bridge and provide a high-level output signal proportional to the applied pressure. Temperature signals, taken directly from the silicon sensing element, allow real-time compensation of balance and sensitivity changes caused by temperature variations.
Built-in protection circuitry includes a series of inline filters, providing a low-impedance path to the case at high frequencies. All supply lines are protected against reverse polarity, and signal lines are shielded from high-voltage transients—ensuring compliance with stringent EMI and lightning protection standards.
The pressure module and electronics are housed in a hermetically welded enclosure, which also contains both pressure and electrical connectors. All wetted and external surfaces are manufactured from stainless steel. Prior to final acceptance testing, all transmitters undergo environmental stress screening to optimize long-term performance and eliminate early-life failures.
This flexible design does not compromise customer choices regarding interface, pressure range, or output type. The PMP/PTX 3000 series is flight qualified to the environmental requirements of RTCA DO-160. It meets the demands of even the harshest environments and delivers a reliable, cost-effective measurement solution with minimal technical risk.
