Dynisco BP420 Burst Plugs
The Dynisco BP420 burst plugs are reliable pressure-relief devices designed specifically for plastic extrusion systems. They provide emergency relief when excessive pressure occurs in a process system. Burst plugs, also known as rupture disks, open at a defined, predetermined pressure to protect the process and equipment from critical pressure build-up.
The BP420 will instantaneously rupture at a specific predetermined pressure and temperature. Each one-piece assembly consists of a 304 stainless steel body with a welded Inconel rupture disk. The disk is flush with the tip of the burst plug, leaving no cavity for product build-up.
A burst plug may be used as primary relief in applications where pressure build-up can occur so rapidly that the response time of a relief valve is inadequate, for example in polymerization reaction vessels. All burst plugs are tested at rated burst pressure and temperature. In addition, the markings on the burst plugs are laser engraved, clearly visible, and each unit is labeled and shipped with protective packaging.
