Anton Paar DMA 35 Basic – portable digital density meter

The Anton Paar DMA 35 Basic is a compact, portable density meter for fast determination of density and concentration directly on site.
The sample can be drawn directly from containers, tanks, drums or other sample vessels using the integrated hand pump and measured within seconds.

With a weight of only 345 g and its particularly flat design, the DMA 35 Basic is ideally suited for mobile measurements and hard-to-reach measuring points.
Only approximately 2 ml sample volume is required for a measurement.

In addition to density, various concentration parameters can be displayed directly. These include relative density, alcohol concentration, sugar and extract values, API functions and sulfuric acid concentrations.
Programmable customer-specific functions are also available.

Fast density measurement directly at the sample

Compared with conventional glass hydrometers, the DMA 35 Basic enables digital measurement with low sample consumption and without the need for manual conversion of measurement results.
The integrated temperature measurement and temperature compensation ensure that results are available quickly and reproducibly.

  • Measurement directly at the storage container or system
  • Only approx. 2 ml sample volume required
  • Integrated hand pump for easy sample intake
  • Direct display of density and various concentration parameters
  • No additional manual conversion required
  • Storage and clear assignment of measurement results
  • User-independent digital measurement results

Compact and robust for mobile use

The lightweight and flat design makes measurements easier in locations where conventional laboratory instruments cannot be used.
The instrument is suitable, for example, for inspection measurements in production areas, warehouses, beverage plants, battery rooms or for quality control directly at the system.

The housing has an IP54 degree of protection and is therefore protected against dust and splash water.
The sample-contacting components are suitable for numerous typical liquids, solutions and acids.

Intelligent functions for an efficient workflow

  • Backlit display for good readability
  • Illuminated measuring cell for checking sample filling
  • Memory for up to 1,024 measurement results
  • Up to 20 measurement methods can be stored
  • Up to 100 sample IDs for clear assignment of measuring points
  • IrDA interface for data transfer
  • Optional printing of measurement results via a portable thermal printer

Typical applications

The DMA 35 Basic can be used in numerous applications where density or concentration needs to be determined quickly and directly on site.

  • Beverage industry and breweries
  • Food industry
  • Chemical industry
  • Acids and chemical solutions
  • Cosmetics and hygiene products
  • Battery and electrical industry
  • Environmental technology
  • Pharmaceuticals, medicine and biotechnology
