Dynisco GRMT Graduated Retractable Melt Thermocouple
The Dynisco GRMT Graduated Retractable Melt Thermocouple is used to measure temperatures inside the polymer melt stream. Its retractable and graduated design allows the immersion depth of the junction to be adjusted during maximum flow and pressure conditions without removing the sensor from the adapter.
The depth of immersion can be varied from flush to mid-stream. Using the graduations on the stem of the temperature sensor, the user can select and monitor the specific depth at which the junction is positioned in the melt stream. This makes the GRMT especially suitable for applications where melt temperature profiles must be obtained or the optimum measuring position needs to be determined.
The thermocouple junction can be centered in the hot melt stream. The sensor is designed for melt temperatures up to 900 °F / 480 °C and features an all stainless steel construction. A corrosion-resistant option is available. The GRMT is designed for extrusion applications and directly replaces standard melt thermocouples.
