Typical applications
The SITRANS FM MAG 6000 I is used in industrial flow measurement systems where conductive liquids must be measured and the measured values reliably transmitted to control or monitoring systems. The Ex version extends the application range to plants with hazardous atmospheres.
- Chemical and petrochemical industry
- Oil and gas industry
- Water and wastewater technology
- Power generation and utilities
- Process industry with increased requirements for diagnostics and communication
- Hazardous areas where approved flow measurement equipment is required
Design and installation
The transmitter is suitable for compact or remote installation in non-hazardous areas or hazardous areas. With compact installation, the transmitter is mounted directly with the sensor. With remote installation, the transmitter is installed separately and connected to the sensor via connection cables.
This flexibility is particularly useful when the measuring point is difficult to access, high ambient temperatures occur or the transmitter must be installed in a more convenient operating position.
Functions
The SITRANS FM MAG 6000 I offers comprehensive functions for measured value display, process control, diagnostics and communication. It can display flow rates, process two measuring ranges and provide different totalizers.
- Flow rate
- 2 measuring ranges
- 2 totalizers
- Low-flow cut-off
- Flow direction
- Fault system
- Operating time
- Uni- and bidirectional flow
- Limit switch and pulse output
- Batch control
Operation and communication
The transmitter is microprocessor-based and equipped with a multilingual alphanumeric display. Operation is carried out via a configurable menu with password protection. Measured values, totalizers, diagnostic information and settings can be displayed and adjusted directly on site.
Add-on modules are available for integration into automation and control systems. Supported communication protocols include HART, FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1, DeviceNet, PROFIBUS PA, PROFIBUS DP and Modbus RTU/RS485.
Display and parameterization
The transmitter can be operated and parameterized using different components. Operation is possible both directly on the device and via external communication and engineering tools.
