Dynisco PT46X4 Series Pressure Sensors with SIL2
The Dynisco PT46X4 Series includes robust pressure sensors for reliable melt pressure and process pressure measurements. The sensors are designed for general applications requiring simple installation, high repeatability and long-term reliability. With an industry-standard 4…20 mA output signal, 14…36 VDC input voltage and pressure ranges from 0…500 to 0…30,000 psi, the series is suitable for a wide range of machinery, plant and plastics processing applications.
The PT46X4 sensors use a four-arm bonded foil Wheatstone bridge strain gauge configuration. They achieve an accuracy of ±0.5 % FS combined error, including linearity, repeatability and hysteresis. The standard wetted parts are made of DyMax® coated 15-5 PH stainless steel. For commissioning and maintenance, zero and span can be adjusted using side-mounted potentiometers, and an internal 80 % shunt calibration function is available for signal verification.
A key advantage of the PT46X4 Series is its safety-related rating. The sensors are self-certified based on an exida™ FMEDA analysis and meet both SIL2 and Performance Level “c” according to EN ISO 13849-1 when installed according to Category 1. This allows them to be integrated into safety-related control systems. An optional Guardian function is available, providing a separate relay output that can be used as a field-settable safety output to place machinery in a safe state.
