The devices of the ESS3 A1 series are used to measure pressure in water networks and can be installed directly in underfloor hydrants. These devices are ideally suited both for short-term measurements (for locating problems) and for long-term measurements over several years. Other applications include validation of pipe network calculations and documentation of leak tests according to DVGW W400-2.

The devices of the ESS3 R1 series are used to measure pressure, differential pressure, and temperature in supply networks for gas, water, and long-distance heating. The device also suited to measure general liquid and gaseous media in industry.
Datasheet
|
The devices of the ESS3 R2 series are used for leak testing in pipeline construction. In addition to the pressure measurement, the device is able to determine the temperature of the pipe line. The device automatically monitors the temperature-compensated test pressure and thus compensates pressure variations caused by temperature influences on the pipe line. Thus, the measuring results are more significant than pure pressure measurements.

Pressure Data Loggers
Pressure data loggers are specialized devices for measuring and recording pressure profiles in technical systems such as pipelines, vessels or supply networks. They systematically capture pressure values over defined periods and enable the analysis of leakages, fluctuations or operational conditions. Typical features include compact design, integrated sensors or external sensor connection, data logger functionality, long run-times and rugged build for mobile or stationary usage.
FAQ
What pressure ranges do data loggers cover?
Pressure data loggers can operate in ranges from fractions of mbar (e.g., for leak monitoring) up to hundreds or thousands of bar (e.g., in hydraulics or process systems). The selection depends on system pressure, medium and measurement task.
What connection options are available?
Depending on the model, integrated pressure sensors or external pressure probes can be used. Interfaces include USB, SD-card, Ethernet or wireless (e.g., Bluetooth) for data transfer and analysis.
How is a logger installed or used?
In mobile use, the logger is connected to a pressure tapping point or mounted directly at the measurement location. In stationary installations, sensor and logger are permanently mounted, often with long-term logging and alarm functionality on threshold exceedance.
Which data formats and analysis options exist?
Measured values are stored as time series, often with timestamp, min/max markings and event flags. Export formats such as CSV or Excel are common, along with chart display, trend analysis and alarm generation.
What calibration and maintenance is required?
Pressure sensors should be calibrated periodically to ensure accuracy and long-term stability. A bump test or comparison with a reference pressure is a common method. Maintenance also applies to connections, seals and power supply.
What environmental influences matter?
Temperature changes, vibrations, humidity, medium effects (e.g., aggressive gases or liquids) and mechanical stress can affect accuracy. Proper device selection and protection rating are therefore important.
