The Dynisco LMI6000 Series is a melt flow indexer with an integrated electromechanical auto-lift. The instrument is designed for laboratory, quality control and production environments where melt flow tests must be performed reproducibly, ergonomically and with minimal operator influence. The automated lift positions test weights safely and repeatably, without the operator having to manually lift or lower the weights.

The LMI6000 Series supports test methods A, A/B, B, C and D. In addition to classic melt flow testing, it can also perform intrinsic viscosity testing for PET and ASTM D3364 testing for PVC materials. The combination of auto-lift, digital encoder, automatic sample cutter and advanced software enables high repeatability and reduces typical operator-related influences during testing.

A major advantage of this new generation is improved usability. The side-mounted 10.2″ touch screen can be positioned on either the left or right side of the instrument and adjusted in height. The Windows 10 IoT user interface enables intuitive operation, while the updated hardware architecture provides faster and smoother navigation. A front-facing power switch helps ensure that all data is properly saved before the unit is shut down.

Improved Performance

The LMI6000 Series represents a new generation in melt index testing. The electromechanical auto-lift automates weight handling and supports consistent test procedures. In combination with the digital encoder, piston displacement can be measured precisely, which is particularly important for volumetric test methods and evaluation according to methods A/B and B.

Advanced Software and Data Connectivity

The LMI6000 Series is designed for modern laboratory and quality processes. Test procedures can be conveniently managed, stored and documented using the integrated software. The IoT option enables connection to the Dynisco IoT Cloud Console, allowing laboratory test data to be correlated with production data. This supports lot traceability, documentation of material certifications and centralized evaluation of test results.

Increased Accessibility and Operation

The new instrument design makes daily laboratory use easier. The side-mounted touch screen can be positioned on the left or right side depending on the installation location. The auto-lift reduces manual handling of heavy test weights, while improved access to the cutting area and the automatic sample cutter simplify sample handling. The configurable single-weight or multi-weight design allows the instrument to be adapted to different testing requirements.

Features and Benefits

  • Electromechanical auto-lift for automatic weight handling
  • Support for test methods A, A/B, B, C and D
  • IV testing for PET and ASTM D3364 testing for PVC materials
  • Gravitational correction for location-dependent test accuracy
  • Windows 10 IoT touch screen user interface
  • 10.2″ colour display with capacitive touch screen
